How to update MuditaOS K on Kompakt

Before you update

Connect to the internet (Wi-Fi, or mobile data if you allow downloads over data). Updates keep your data and your MuditaOS K version only moves forward, but a recent backup in Mudita Center is good insurance.

Update on the phone

1. When an update is available, you see New MuditaOS K update is available at the top of the Control Center. Tap it.
2. Tap Update.
3. If asked, read the licence agreement, tick the check box and tap Agree.
4. The update downloads and installs on its own. Tap Restart phone when asked.

To check manually: open the Control Center, tap Settings, About, Software Update.

If the update fails

1. Try the update again.
2. Check that your internet connection is stable.
3. No Wi-Fi? Check that downloads over mobile data are allowed under Settings, Network & Internet, Mobile Network.
4. Restart the phone.
5. As a last resort, do a factory reset. Back up first.
6. If nothing works, contact us.

Mudita Center cannot install Kompakt updates. It only tells you that one is available.

What is in the latest version

MuditaOS K 1.6 started rolling out on 24 August 2026: 38 keyboard languages, smarter text suggestions, easier Maps setup, voicemail on supported networks, task lists in Notes and per-alarm vibration. On 2 September 2026 the remaining rollout batches were paused while a hotfix is prepared. Full list in the release notes. MuditaOS K 2.0 is planned for November 2026.
