How to do a factory reset on Kompakt

Back up first

A factory reset deletes everything on the phone. Your MuditaOS K version stays the same. Open Mudita Center, connect Kompakt, go to Overview and click Create backup. You can protect the backup with a password, but it cannot be changed or recovered later.

Reset from Settings

1. Open the Control Center and tap Settings.
2. Tap System, then Factory Reset.
3. Tap Factory Reset.
4. If you are sure, tap Factory Reset again to confirm.
5. Kompakt restarts, ready to set up.

Reset from recovery

Use this only when Kompakt does not start, for example if it is stuck in a loop at startup.

1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold Power and Volume up together until you see Select Boot Mode.
3. Press Volume up to move to Recovery Mode, then Volume down to choose it.
4. When you see a broken robot icon, hold Power and press Volume up once to open the recovery menu.
5. Use the volume buttons to move to Wipe data/factory reset and press Power to confirm.
6. Wait for the reset to finish.

After the reset

Run the initial setup, then in Mudita Center go to Overview, Restore from backup, and pick your backup.
