Charging Bell 2 and checking the battery

Updated 28 Sep 2026
Short answerBell 2 lasts up to a few months of moderate use on one charge. Charging from 5% to 100% takes about 5 hours with a 5V USB charger. To hear the battery level, press and hold the main button for about 2 seconds.

How long the battery lasts

Up to a few months of moderate use on a single charge. Frequent use of the backlight, or letting the alarm play long and loud, shortens that considerably.

Charging

  1. Plug the included USB-C cable into the clock and into a USB charger or a computer's USB port. The clock sounds a signal when it is connected.
  2. Use a charger with a fixed 5V output, ideally 1A or more. Fast chargers with variable voltage and some Apple chargers may not work; a computer USB port always does.
  3. Charging from 5% to 100% takes about 5 hours. Charge a new clock for at least 2 to 3 hours before first use.

If the clock does not react when plugged in, press both top side buttons together for 5 to 10 seconds to reset it, or try another cable.

Checking the level

Light-click the main button and hold it for about 2 seconds. Bell 2 tells you the battery level in % in a voice message.

Low battery

Below 5%, the clock warns you with flashing light and a sound. When it is critically low, only the time and the alarm keep working. Charge it straight away, or the quartz mechanism will stop.
