Power nap is a countdown timer on Harmony and Harmony 2. You can set it anywhere from 1 to 180 minutes, in one-minute steps. When the time is up, a sound wakes you. Use it for naps or anything else you want to time.

Start a power nap

  1. On the home screen, light-click the main button to open the menu.
  2. Turn the main button to Power nap and light-click.
  3. Turn the main button to set the number of minutes.
  4. Light-click to start the countdown.

Stop or cancel it

  • When it rings, light-click the main button. You go back to the home screen.
  • To stop before the end, press the back button. You go back to the power nap settings.

The Harmony user guide says the power nap uses the same tone as your alarm.

How long to nap

The Harmony user guide suggests keeping naps short. It cites studies that put the best nap length at 10 to 20 minutes, and generally no longer than 30 minutes, so you wake without feeling groggy.

Other timers on Harmony

  • Meditation: 1 to 180 minutes, with an optional start delay, interval chimes and statistics.
  • Relaxation: plays soothing sounds once, for a set time or in a loop.
  • Focus timer: focus sessions with short and long breaks. Needs software 2.7.0 or later.
