How to change where maps are stored

In Maps, tap the Menu icon, then Settings, Storage, and choose SD Card. Country maps can be large, so the SD card keeps space free on the phone.

Change the storage location

1. Insert a microSD card if there is none yet
2. Tap Apps
3. Tap Maps
4. Tap the Menu icon
5. Tap Settings
6. Tap Storage
7. Tap SD Card

Make room first if you are out of space

If a download failed because of low space, delete maps you do not need, then download them again after you switch to the SD card.

2. Tap Maps
3. Tap the Menu icon
4. Tap Manage Maps
5. Tap the Edit icon
6. Tap the Delete icon for the map you want to delete
7. Tap Delete Map

Maps shows the size of each map before you download it, so you can check it fits.
