How to plan a route

Open Maps, choose a destination by searching or tapping on the map, then start navigation. The route always starts from your current location, so Kompakt needs a GPS fix.

Before you start

• Download the maps for every area on the route. Maps tells you if one is missing and shows its size before you download it.
• Turn on location sharing for Maps: Settings, Location Sharing.
• Go outside or near a window. Kompakt uses satellite GPS only, so a first fix can take a while indoors or between tall buildings. Turning on A-GPS in settings (MuditaOS K 1.5.0 and newer) makes it faster.

Plan the route

1. Tap Apps
2. Tap Maps
3. Search for your destination, or tap the place on the map
4. Add up to 3 stops along the way if you need them
5. Choose how you travel. Driving is the default.
6. Start navigation

While you navigate

• There are two modes: Map Navigation Mode, the default, and Step-by-Step Mode. Both have voice guidance in 8 languages.
• The map can turn to match your direction of travel. You can move it around and recentre it on your position.
• If a long route takes too long to calculate, Maps tells you and lets you cancel or change it.
• GPS navigation uses a lot of battery. Charge before a long trip.

You cannot set a different starting point at the moment. Routes always begin where you are.
