Mudita Kompakt initial setup

Before you start

Have your SIM card (or your carrier's eSIM QR code), your Wi-Fi password and the USB-C cable from the box ready.

Step by step

1. Insert the SIM. Push the SIM key into the round hole, pull the SIM tray fully out, place a nano-SIM in the tray with the gold side facing down, and slide the tray back in. For eSIM, skip this and add it after setup.
2. Power on. Press the power button.
3. Language. Tap Language setup and pick your language.
4. Connect to Wi-Fi. Pick your network, enter the password and tap Next.
5. Licence. Read the End User Licence Agreement and tap Accept.
6. Passcode. Enter a new 6-digit passcode, tap Confirm passcode, enter it again and tap Set passcode.
7. Fingerprint. The scanner is in the power button. Rest your finger on it, lift when it vibrates, and repeat, moving your finger slightly each time. Tap Done. You can add more later under Settings, Security, Manage Fingerprints.
8. Tutorial. Tap Quick Tutorial to see the basics, or skip it. Skipping does not affect setup.
9. Update. If an update is available, tap Update, then Restart phone.

Bring your contacts

Use Mudita Center on your computer: import from Google or Outlook, or upload a CSV or vCard file (for iCloud, export a vCard first). Each route has its own guide under Managing contacts. If you are coming from a smartphone, read the switching guide first.

If something goes wrong

Kompakt does not power on: charge it for a while, then try again. SIM not recognised: take the tray out and check the SIM sits gold side down. Update fails: check your internet connection, try again, and restart the phone. Still stuck? Write to us with your model, your MuditaOS K version and what you tried.
