How to merge duplicate contacts using Mudita Center

Connect Kompakt to Mudita Center, open Contacts and use the section for duplicate contacts to merge them. This needs Mudita Center 4.0.0 or newer on your computer and MuditaOS K 1.5.0 or newer on Kompakt.

Before you start

• Update Mudita Center and Kompakt to the versions above.
• Create a backup first, in case a merge does not turn out the way you expected: in Mudita Center, look under Your Kompakt, click Overview, then Create backup.

Merge duplicate contacts

1. Open Mudita Center and connect your device
2. Look under Your Kompakt and click Contacts
3. Open the section that lists duplicate contacts
4. Check which contacts Center suggests merging
5. Confirm the merge

Do not disconnect Kompakt while Center is changing your contacts.

Why duplicates happen

Duplicates usually come from importing the same contacts twice, for example from Google and then again from a vCard file. If you plan to import again, delete the old copies first: select them in Contacts with the Checkbox and click Delete.
